Job Summary

We are a Christian Organization that provides non-judgemental support individuals through crisis pregnancies and challenging post pregnancy situations. We are a registered Charity. Applicants must agree with our core documents and express this in their cover letter.  The employee will often be in and around clients who are receiving care therefor the applicant must be able to represent our core values well. 


The position requires a strong knowledge of Non profit bookkeeping practices, Quickbooks, AR / AP, bank reconciling.


Qualifications and Skills

Experience with QuickBooks is an important asset

Diploma or similar training in Accounting, Commerce, Bachelor of Business Admin, or bookkeeping would be a very valuable asset but not required.



Required attributes

  • Strong experience with Quickbooks, AR AP, account reconciliation, GL adjustments, account setup, payroll, filing the annual return and other bookkeeping practices,
  • Must be highly organized, responsible, and knows how to handle a variety of demanding processes and tasks, and knows how to initiate new procedures and office systems to improve the office flow.
  • Candidate needs to be a fast learner, quick thinker, equally capable of working unsupervised and working well in a team
  • Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize amid many, demanding tasks
  • Able to demonstrate that they are very organized in their workplace and in their habits in an office and able to take initiative in creating new workflows, procedures, filing systems, etc and increasing overall organization within an office.

Responsibilities 
  • Prepare payroll,
  • Remit source deductions
  • Issue cheques and pay bills or staff
  • Record donations being exported from external sources ie. Canada Helps, Paypal etc.
  • Process monthly credit card donations
  • Preparation of Bank reconciliation
  • Prepare reimbursement cheques 6
  • prepare monthly report for the Board of Trustees and Directors
  • manage Petty Cash Fund
  • Prepare Annual Charity Return
  • Prepare donations slips
  • Preparation of T4 for distribution to the staff and for submission to CRA
  • Payment of WCB and preparation of the payroll report
  • Answer any queries made during NTR/Audit by External Accountant
  • Oversee event financials 
  • Preparation of ROE
  • Answer any query from the CRA
  • Communicates with the supplier for any discrepancies noted
  • Look for ways to improve the system
